Greater Midland Announces Opening Date of New Midland Community Center
New Greater Midland Community Center Set to Open its Doors on May 15, 2024

Greater Midland is excited to announce the official opening date of the highly anticipated Midland Community Center, Wednesday, May 15. Designed with the community in mind, this state-of-the-art Center will serve as a dynamic hub for community engagement, wellness, and enrichment to enhance the quality of life for individuals and families of all ages and backgrounds.

Joy Jiao and her family, sons 5 and 3, moved to Midland in 2019 and joined the Greater Midland Community Center shortly after their move. "Our family thrives at the center!" says Joy. "With long Michigan winters we plan ahead and utilize all the exciting programs the Community Center offers.”

Larry Piper found himself at the Midland Community Center 62 years ago. It was a dark stormy winter night, and he had just driven eight hours tour the city. Larry described the Center as the social, educational, and fitness hub of Midland. Even on that stormy winter night, Larry said the Center was active.

Greg Baldwin's friendly face has been seen around the Greater Midland Community Center for years. As a 12-year resident of Midland, Greg was pleased when he first came to the Center and realized it was a place for everyone and enjoys spending his time at the Center utilizing the lap pool.
