Experienced Leader, Jeff Rekeweg Announced as Next Tennis Center Executive Director

Greater Midland is pleased to announce the following leadership appointment for the Greater Midland Tennis Center, the largest indoor/outdoor facility in the Midwest with a leading organization to provide superior tennis teaching, programming experiences and entertainment for any age and capability.

Jeff Rekeweg has been named the next Greater Midland Tennis Center Executive Director. With over 25 years of leadership and business experience in the Midland community and beyond, Rekeweg will guide the organization forward to a successful and sustainable future.

 

“Jeff has an established history of developing strong teams to build even stronger organizations. His extensive leadership experience, coupled with his drive to achieve will be a great addition to the Tennis Center. As a visionary leader, he has creatively approached past obstacles and formed positive outcomes for his previous organizations,” said Greg Bunker, Board Chair of the Greater Midland Tennis Center. “His strategic thinking will strengthen our existing Greater Midland Tennis Center assets and his proven business insight will create new opportunities for the Center.”

Rekeweg most recently served as Advancement Officer at Northwood University in Midland, Michigan where he cultivated strategic partnerships to secure funding and grants for capital projects, scholarships, and overall University needs. Prior to that he was Northwood’s Men’s Head Basketball Coach for 10 years leading recruitment of players and staff resulting in the team’s best success in the 60-year history of the school. He started coaching at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Rekeweg holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Finance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he played collegiate basketball.

Rekeweg’s strong community presence and experience includes active participation on several boards, including Greater Midland’s Community Center Board, the Arc of Midland and the Midland Legacy Center. In addition, he was the originator of bringing the Gus Macker tournament to Midland, with high recognition from this organization as being the largest first-time event location across the nation.  

 

“I am very excited to start my journey with the Greater Midland Tennis Center. The team and what the Tennis Center has to offer is like no other. With so much talent and potential for growth, I really can’t wait to get in and get to work,” said Rekeweg. “It’s an honor to be adding to the Tennis Center’s legacy and to the Greater Midland purpose in our community. The membership and team here are passionate and I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and to become a familiar face around the Tennis Center. I want to thank Northwood University and all the great people there for an amazing 12 years, it has been an honor being part of something so special.”

 

Rekeweg will join the Greater Midland team in mid-March. He currently resides in Midland with his wife, Rebecca, and has six daughters.
